Hotel Mas De Xaxàs

Breakfast is a buffet, with fresh, delicious food. The homemade jam deserves a mention. I'm not even much of a jam person, but I really liked it. The hostess was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was another highlight. I especially loved the steak and duck leg confit, and there was tasty bread included with the meal. The food was delicious, the staff kind and attentive, and the river view came with real peace and quiet. A++. The building is beautiful, with high ceilings, big wooden doors and art from around the world. The wood smells lovely throughout, in both the rooms and the lobby and common areas. Camprodon itself is gorgeous, and even the street-facing rooms have a beautiful city view. If you can afford it, I'd still go for a room with “views” facing the mountains. They're breathtaking. I have no complaints, and I'm quite picky. I'm starting to feel sad that I'm not at Mas de Xaxas right now.

We were there for 3 nights in peak tourist season and had a really positive stay. The hosts, Victor and Maria Angeles, went out of their way to point us towards local places to visit. We also loved the river views and the service. The room was very comfortable, with a luxurious limestone shower wall in the en-suite. At breakfast, the newly-opened restaurant had a view across the river and a huge selection of local and national foods. Entering the hotel, the mosaic floor in the hall and the study room with its books and comfortable sofas gave a first impression of class. We were amazed by the warm welcome.

We booked three rooms for couples, for the whole family, and had a great time. The place is well run, the service was outstanding, breakfast was excellent, and both the rooms and common areas were neat. There were only a few other guests while we were there, though I think you could still have a good time when the hotel is full. It's the kind of place we'd go back to whenever we could. Hope to return soon.

The owner and all the staff gave us an exceptionally friendly welcome and service, and they all spoke good English. Our room was clean and comfortable, with good bathroom facilities. Dinner at the restaurant was fabulous and breakfast was just as good. We were able to park the motorbike in their private yard. If you're in the area, this hotel is well worth a stay. Outstanding 😃👌👍
