A really relaxing place, with the beach about ten minutes away on foot. It’s great for children: there’s a playroom with a lovely mural and a box of things to borrow, including balls, puzzles, shovels and beach buckets. A huge playground with plenty of shade is just a three-minute walk away. The service was fantastic and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend it.

Breakfast was the highlight, and the free iced tea was surprisingly great too. The pool area was lovely, though it could get a little crowded. The hotel had a Florida gangster motel sort of feel, in a good way, and I liked the pinkish architecture. Rooms were nicely done, with a fridge and a good balcony. Amazing stay.

Dinner was the main letdown. The selection was okay, but it was mostly casseroles on a repetitive schedule, and sometimes there weren’t any seats available. The kitchen also seemed short on tableware. Servers were busy clearing empty plates, and there were no cups at the coffee machine. I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay. The place needs refurbishment, and the room felt dated, with mold spots and smelly bathroom vents. I hadn’t noticed the air conditioning had no dry setting; with the outdoor air so humid, I couldn’t get the moisture out.

Can Picafort is a calm neighbourhood, unlike Alcudia, for better or worse. The hotel is next to a park, so most or all rooms face the woods, and the beach and restaurants are about a 500-metre stroll away. We really liked staying here, and our kids, aged 10 and 11, enjoyed it too. Great pool, and both the breakfast and dinner buffets were nice. I’d happily recommend it.
