The staff were so friendly and attentive, and I’d consider staying here again if I’m back in the area. Dinner was fully booked, so they sent us to Ara restaurant for the same €10 price. Bed and breakfast cost €16; breakfast was toast and muffins with honey or jam, plus coffee and juice. The dorm rooms have plenty of space, but the old bunk beds need replacing, and the bathrooms and showers feel a bit cramped. A renovation would make a big difference.
The biggest issue for me was all the plastic packaging. Everything came wrapped, including the margarine and jam, and there wasn’t even a recycling system, just one bin for food scraps and plastic containers together. Breakfast was very basic, with no wholemeal bread, plant-based milk, or butter, only margarine. They didn’t serve tea, though you could ask for hot water. I also couldn’t get a comfortable shower temperature. I hope they improve by adding healthier and more eco-friendly choices, because at the moment I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
The location is a real plus, under 15 minutes from Candanchú and Astún ski resorts. Breakfast was pretty good, so that earns an extra star, but it was freezing inside, the showers were awful, and the owner didn’t seem very friendly.
The dinners were delicious and made with natural ingredients, and we loved the quiet, unique setting in the snow. The little ones were thrilled by the name "Pepito Grillo" (Jiminy Cricket). We had three wonderful days, and Sole and Santi were such welcoming hosts. We’ll definitely return, even though we live many miles away.
The place is simple, all wood, and very cozy, with decent shared bathrooms. Santi and Sole are lovely owners, always helpful and ready to answer with a smile whenever you need something.
