Hotel Mirador

The hotel is simple and clean, and the woman running it was friendly. We enjoyed the central location and the views, and in summer there's a pool to use. Breakfast was basic but just right before a day of hiking. One thing, though, the room needs heating. It was very cold at night.

The Mirador was a really pleasant place to stay, and we'd definitely come back. The village itself is lovely, with a chemist and supermarket about five minutes away, then a couple more bars a little further on. One had a communal pool, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful tapas at Oscars bar. The area is quite hilly and steep in spots, so getting around could be hard if you have mobility issues. At the hotel, the managers and staff were so friendly and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Our spacious room had a small balcony with terrific views, a full sized bath, comfortable beds and a little fridge with an ice compartment. There's a restaurant downstairs where we ate breakfast and dinner a couple of times. The swordfish was amazing.

Antonio, the owner, was incredibly helpful, and the service was excellent. The hotel was spotless and right in the village, within easy reach of bars and restaurants. We could also walk straight from there into the mountains and national park. We were lucky to find this little gem, and it was excellent value.

I can't comment on the hotel itself because I never got to stay there, but dealing with Hr Mirador was awful. I booked accidentally because I couldn't travel due to covid, cancelled straight away and sent three emails asking for help. Nobody replied, and they still charged the full fee. I should've been more careful, but a staff member told me by phone that Booking.com could refund me. That wasn't true: Booking.com said Hr Mirador wouldn't waive the cancellation fee. Terrible customer service and a horrible experience.
