Flacalco Hotel & Apartments

The hotel has a lot going for it for the price, and the central location is great for town and the beaches. There's a supermarket close by, a nicely renovated reception area, a lovely pool, comfortable beds, well-decorated double rooms and good-sized, new bathrooms. The bar staff were nice, and the two male receptionists were helpful. The facilities could be good, but customer service really let things down. The trouble started at check-in. One of the two women at reception seemed confused that we were asking to check in, and we felt unwelcome from the outset. When we asked questions later, they weren't accommodating and made it feel like every request was a problem. Since I'd booked directly on their website, I was automatically enrolled in the loyalty programme. The website said that included a welcome bottle of cava, early check-in and late checkout, but none of that was mentioned or offered. I didn't ask in the end because of how the reception staff had treated us. We were given room 124, which the flacalco website advertises as an individual room, even though I'd booked a double. It was tiny and really uncomfortable for two people. The bathroom door was coming off its hinges and offered no privacy, the shower overflowed, and the room hadn't been fully cleaned. The towels were stained, empty toiletries bottles had been left behind, and there was no shampoo or light sheet on the bed. We asked to move, but were told the hotel was full and only the 'emergency room' was available, which also wasn't great. At first, they said we'd have to come back the next day to check whether another room was free. Nobody acknowledged that we'd booked a different room type and seemed to have been put in the wrong one because of overbooking. Thankfully, they moved us the next morning, and the second double room was much better. We also booked the third-party airport transfer through the hotel's website. I know the transfer wasn't the hotel's responsibility, but we just asked if they could call the company to change the pickup time. The receptionist mocked me for asking, made the call begrudgingly, and seemed pleased when the time couldn't be changed. The hotel itself is nice and the location is super convenient, so I'd recommend Flacalco to someone who isn't too concerned about service. The service could be much better.

We had a lovely room, a great atmosphere and a very good breakfast. The hotel is close enough to the center for everything you need, yet far enough away to stay quiet all day. The staff were fantastic and always ready to help or make suggestions, especially Elena, Alejandro,Marisa, Gabriel, Ottman and the others. We really enjoyed our second visit and will be back.

The rooms are spacious, the hotel is spotless, and we had everything we needed. From beginning to end it was a wonderful stay. The reception team made the place feel especially welcoming, always helping with whatever we needed. The bar staff and everyone else we met were just as helpful.

The location is the real highlight. Beaches are close, there's parking, and the bus stop is only two minutes away. I'd recommend getting a room with a kitchen. Our room was small, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was really nice. I found it a bit overpriced for what we got. We had breakfast for six days, and although they tried to vary it, after the first couple of days it felt repetitive. We ended up eating the same things each day. The hotel is nice, and the woman at reception was very kind. Beach towels are available with a €20 deposit per towel. You can swap them daily, and get the deposit back when you return them. I would've liked the floors cleaned more often. There was a lot of beach sand, and I think they need sweeping every day. They did clean them after I asked at reception, but not without being asked.
