I came back this year with a friend because I'd stayed here two years ago and remembered the rooms as comfortable and great. On arrival, we were offered a place at a completely different four-star hotel for a lower price. I refused. Instead, we were put in a room at the very end of the hotel, with hot, stuffy corridors that were almost impossible to breathe in. The balcony faced an unpleasant view, and the room was nothing like the one I'd had before. I went straight to reception to explain that this wasn't the room we'd booked. A young staff member checked with management and tried to help, offering a superior room for that night. The next day we moved to a lovely room overlooking the pool and garden, so it seemed settled. The following morning, a different receptionist was there when we went to get the new room key. He was irritated and said we had no right to request a change, that nobody should have offered us the superior room, and that he wouldn't have changed it if it were up to him. He also told us we had to pay €50 for switching rooms. We were shocked. My friend and I were left waiting by the pool from early morning until 2 PM because we couldn't enter any room. After about 15 minutes, the same receptionist came back, apologized, said he'd misunderstood what happened, and told us compensation would be issued. Later that day we finally got the room we'd originally booked. I'm not sure I'd call it a failed vacation, but without that receptionist's behavior, everything would have been perfect.

The price felt reasonable, so I don't have any real complaints. I stayed five nights and things were generally good, though the hotel is definitely dated. It might have been a true five-star place 15 years ago.

The staff made us feel so welcome, and the building is stunning, almost like a palace from the outside. We were upgraded to a much larger suite with a jacuzzi, which made our stay even more special. We really enjoyed our time there. Everything was perfect!

We chose half board and had plenty of delicious options at both breakfast and dinner. The garden was wonderful too, and we loved spending a few days at the hotel.

The gardens made the whole place feel like a lush green canopy, and inside there were antiques, ornaments, and grand hallways with lots of comfortable corners to sit in. We also made good use of the spa, which was relaxing and included at no extra charge. It was a luxury, restful break just as we’d hoped. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a family suite. The reception team were welcoming and helpful whenever we needed something, and staff around the hotel greeted us with a smile. In the restaurant, Aida and Mirelis deserve a special mention for going above and beyond, especially with guests who need a little extra support, like my sister, who has MS. The bar staff were also fun to chat with and happy to joke around. The room came with a hairdryer and air conditioning, plus extras like a toothbrush and toothpaste, a razor, and shaving cream. There was a large bottle of water waiting for us, which was especially welcome after arriving late and wanting to rest. A couple of times I had to persuade the maid that we didn't need the room cleaned that day. Thank you to everyone at the hotel. We got the relaxing luxury break we came for.
