Hotel THB Dos Playas - Adults Only

We had a really nice stay overall. The food was good, the staff were consistently kind, and the hotel had a calm atmosphere. The beach and the town were both very quick to reach. The problems were in our room. Housekeeping never changed the bed sheets or vacuumed, not even once. The air conditioning control panel also didn't work properly: it either blew very cold air straight at us or stopped working, with no comfortable setting in between. I assume that was just an issue with our room and not the usual situation.

The rooms have been renovated and are new, the food was tasty, and the staff were friendly. But I expected a quiet adults-only hotel where I could enjoy the pool and balcony, and it was very noisy instead. The hotel sits by two main roads in Cala Rajada, so traffic was louder than the pool music and could be heard in the room too. I'd have preferred a quiet four-star hotel with kids.

We were pleasantly surprised by how good the hotel was. Staff were polite, helpful and spoke Spanish, German and good English. Check-in went smoothly, and we got an upgrade to a pool-view room. They gave us a card and a regular room key, though only the key was actually used. Our room was in excellent condition, with clean furniture, bedding and blinds. The bathroom was a decent size and spotless, and the shower was powerful. There was a hairdryer and a safe, though the safe costs extra. Housekeeping did a good job with fresh towels and bedding. The air conditioning was easy to manage, the room was well insulated, and Wi-Fi worked very well. There was no fridge, which is worth knowing. Breakfast impressed us, with a broad hot and cold buffet, fresh croissants each day, good pastries and fresh fruit. The pool area looked even better than the photos, was well maintained, and had plenty of sunbeds with a bar right next to it. The pool is open from 10 am to 7 pm. Since it faces the main road, there can be some traffic noise, though it didn't bother us much; light background music from the hotel helped cover it. At first, the surrounding area seemed quiet and a little characterless. Once we explored the seaside at night, we found shops, restaurants, clubs and great places to eat and party, all within walking distance. We drove around Mallorca a lot and would happily stay in the same area if we return. There's also a nice nearby beach or cala. We were very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend the hotel.
