The restaurant downstairs, which belongs to the same owner, played loud music all night and made it hard to sleep. The accommodation itself was run-down and outdated, with old furniture, sofas covered in blankets to hide their poor condition, and junk scattered around the entrance to the apartments. I’ve stayed in houses and apartments in the Alpujarras for many years without complaint, but it’s been a while since I’ve come across somewhere like this. I don’t recommend it.

The room still wasn’t ready four hours after check-in, and they hadn’t brought towels. They acted as if bringing two was “doing us a favor,” saying men only get one towel even though we’d booked for two days. In the middle of winter, we were given summer sheets. The bathroom was supposed to have toiletries, but all it had was a shampoo of dubious quality. The place also felt unsafe and poorly maintained. A door onto the terrace connects to other terraces, doesn’t close properly, and lets heat escape underneath (photo 4). A living room window is missing a pane of glass, and the sofa is in terrible shape, as the photos show. Watch out for the protruding nail, one of my friends already pricked himself on it. The air conditioner was filthy, as though it hadn’t seen a cleaning cloth since it was installed. The only positive is that they allow pets. There’s a lot that needs improving.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment on a Saturday. The place was clean, with good air conditioning, a good TV, and a spacious terrace. They told us they’re gradually renovating the rooms, with upgrades to the bathrooms, furniture, windows, and other things. Given that work is still ongoing, the price-quality ratio is good. The restaurant there is fantastic and attracts customers from all over, and Pub Tucanos is just a stone’s throw away, a nice spot to relax. For a rural getaway at a good price, we’d definitely stay again.

The apartments are spacious and have a nice room layout, but they’re terribly neglected and poorly maintained. The windows don’t open properly, they literally fall to the floor. The cleaning wasn’t adequate at all, though the cleaner was very kind. This place needs a major renovation. I absolutely do not recommend it.

I’d seen the reviews and was pleasantly surprised: everything was very clean, and the beds were comfortable and neatly made. The staff were very pleasant, and I’d stay again. There wasn’t much kitchenware, though.
