The room was very clean, the staff were friendly, and they let me check in before the official time. It’s close to Los Picos de Europa, making it a great base. There’s a very large parking area nearby, so we could park at any time of day. One small caveat: the hotel is in a small town, and bar guests can make it a bit noisy in the evening. The noise dies down around 23:00-0:00.

Marilar, the owner, was very friendly and helpful, and gave us great hiking tips. The hostal has a lot of charm and is only a 15 minute drive from the start of the Picos hikes. There’s a convenient restaurant across the road, though the portions are rather large.

The room was modern and very clean, with good windows. The village is small, with two little shops and a few restaurants. Best of all, there’s a gorgeous terrace overlooking the river and mountains.

Good value for money, with friendly, attentive staff. The downside was that there was no parking because of repair work in Sept 2023.
