Apartamentos Plaza Sevillano

The apartment looks nice, but that’s about the only good thing I can say. We had a horrible stay because of how irresponsibly it was managed. We tried reaching them through Booking.com, WhatsApp, and by phone, but heard nothing until check-in day. Then they sent parking information and said we couldn’t check in early. Check-in was listed as 3:00 PM, yet by then we still had no instructions for getting in. When we finally got someone on the phone, we were told the apartment wasn’t ready. Apparently “from 3:00 PM” meant whenever they got around to it. Nobody had warned us it would be late or offered anything for the delay. We waited almost an hour, with an elderly relative along. The woman who answered was completely unacceptable: no apology or explanation, and she wanted to charge us extra for returning the car early while refusing to take anything off the rental price for the late check-in. There were problems inside as well. The bedroom bathroom door doesn’t work, the kettle trips the circuit breaker, the small bathroom smells rotten, and the toilet seat is broken. I wouldn’t stay here again. There are better places with decent service. A horrible experience.

It’s a large apartment in a central location, and the cleanliness was impressive. The online check-in was convenient, with access codes sent by WhatsApp, but they never said which apartment was ours. We tried the code on doors across all three floors until one opened. We’d booked for four, but found only one bed made up and towels for two. When we used the second bed’s sheet, it had hair and dirt on it. The area around the apartment is run-down, so I really wouldn’t recommend it.

The neighborhood felt noisy and pretty questionable, and the customer service was terrible. We were surprised there was no tea or coffee. We travel a lot and this was a first for us. The owner answered rudely that food wasn’t included in the price. Really, is tea and coffee that expensive? After we bought tea, we found there wasn’t even a kettle. It’s a joke. The apartment was clean, but that’s where the positives ended. We’d been encouraged by the good reviews, but communication with the unfriendly owner was very poor. We don’t recommend staying here.

The apartment itself was fine and clean, so I can’t give it zero stars, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. They sent us the wrong address, and we spent more than an hour trying to find the right place. Check carefully that you get what you paid for: we’d booked two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but they would have put us in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom place if we hadn’t complained. The apartment is beside a nice area, but its own location has a dubious reputation. Be careful late in the afternoon and evening, as you might even come across people selling drugs. I won’t be back.
