Konk Hostel

The hostel has a nice vibe, and the rooms are clean and seem mostly new. There just need to be more guests. I think it’ll open again around March or May 2026, and I’d come back if I needed to. I stayed before it closed for the year. There’s no reception, though staff are there from 11am to 3pm and sometimes leave earlier. After you book, they’re supposed to send a WhatsApp message explaining how to enter the building and your room. You need a recent phone for the Staymyway app, since it won’t work on older phones. Follow the WhatsApp instructions and enter the codes they provide in the app to get the codes for the building and room doors. If you don’t get a WhatsApp message, the booking hasn’t been confirmed. This happened to another guest who booked through trip dot com, and there were also some expedia issues, so booking dot com may be better. My first night was fine, and I was alone in the hostel with few guests. Before midnight, a man arrived and talked to me in Spanish for a long time. He was pushy, and it scared me, so I stayed in the common area until late. When I eventually went into the room, he was there changing without minding privacy. I felt even more scared with just the two of us there. The hostel should have had a female-only room available, and it was empty, so I don’t understand why a man and a woman were put together in one room. The following days were fine once more people arrived. The hostel is fully equipped: you can cook, there’s a fridge, and you can do laundry and use a dryer. There’s also an expensive coffee machine that costs 1.50 euro and a vending machine for snacks or other items you’ve forgotten.
