The location was the biggest drawback for me. There were groups of men all around, and I wouldn’t have felt safe there alone as a woman. I wouldn’t recommend walking by yourself at night. It’s noisy as well, since the hotel is on a main road. This feels like somewhere to sleep while passing through, rather than a good base for visiting Cartagena. Having parking included was a nice touch. We stayed over the weekend because my son was playing in a nearby sports tournament. The hotel is old fashioned but mostly clean, and for the price I had no complaints about the room. I booked through Agoda for a discount, but picked the wrong option. There were several adjoining rooms, with room only or breakfast for €5 per person. The options were about €96 or €116 with breakfast, and I selected one for €115. After booking, I realized that was the only choice with no breakfast and no free cancellation. The €95 option was the same room with free cancellation. I spoke to Agoda and the hotel, but neither could sort it out. I couldn’t see why I’d pay €20 more for the same room with fewer options. We couldn’t add breakfast or change the booking. I thought that was a bit petty, but we needed somewhere to stay, so I let it go.

The staff were nice, and there were useful places nearby, including a laundromat and grocery stores less than two minutes away. The area felt a little sketchy, though. The room and towels were dirty. The TV channels were a complete mess and didn’t match the guide.

The rooms were spotless, with comfy beds and a really good shower. We got a polite, courteous welcome, and parking was perfect. Breakfast was light, and the coffee was nice. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. Buses into town take 12 minutes, run every 30 minutes, and cost €1.20, making it easy to walk around the attractions. A delightful find for a wee break. I’ll definitely recommend it and stay again.

The rooms were clean, lovely, and comfortable. They responded well to requests and took our extra needs into account, including letting us bring our well-behaved dog. More than delighted!
