You need to be fit for this hike, and the footing along the ridge isn’t easy. But the views are stunning, the stretch over the Crestería is fun, and the barranco is beautiful. We did a 13km loop today, taking a trail to the Mirador de Catí through snowy woods, then crossing the ridge and returning through the gorge. There are loads of hiking options in this mountain range.

There’s so much room to run here, and our dog loved it. Lots of trails work well for hiking or jogging. The one downside is that there aren’t any trash bins, even in the parking area.

A tick was crawling on my trousers as I was leaving, so keep an eye out for them. Still, it’s such a beautiful place and I totally recommend it.

There are lots of parking spaces, including some that can fit campervans. The picnic tables and benches sit in the shade of tall pine trees, and the public restrooms were clean and in good shape. I think they’re open from 9 am to 7 pm.

A great hiking spot! Just keep in mind that grilling is only allowed on weekends, and there are some restrictions on windy days in October.
