House Crystal Playa de Aro

We had a lovely sea view from both the room and terrace, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Jordi was especially helpful when we accidentally left a bag behind. The breakfast spread is extensive, though the hot food could use work: it wasn’t hot, and the fried eggs and bacon were sitting in oil. We really enjoyed the hotel and plan to come back next year.

The views from our terrace were fabulous, and the staff were so welcoming. Whan was especially kind and helpful, and everyone made our stay lovely. We definitely want to return. Thanks to the whole team ❤️

The breakfast was the main letdown. The rest of it was excellent, but the fried eggs were lukewarm, rubbery and had been sitting out for ages, while the bacon was oily. The tortilla was cold even when we were first down. There’s no reason to cook 24 eggs at once and wait for them all to go. I would come back, though. We stayed in a superior room that hadn’t been modernised. It had a balcony with two loungers and a small table and chairs, but the awning wouldn’t retract, and maintenance couldn’t fix it. I hope it’s sorted before the next guests arrive. The location is great, close to the centre, and you can walk straight down to the beach. The public and dining areas are beautiful and peaceful, with breathtaking views. For a three-star hotel, it’s very, very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I did notice the occasional sewer smell at the entrance, as other reviews mentioned, but nowhere else. Service at the bar was poor, probably because it was October.

We liked Platja d'Aro, but I don’t think we’d stay at this hotel again. The refurbished superior room disappointed us: the bathroom area smelled of sewers, the rain shower didn’t work properly, there was no iron or ironing board, and the Wi-Fi was often unavailable or very weak. The bed was comfortable and the view from the room was lovely. The public spaces were clean, comfortable and had lots of places to sit and relax. The location is handy for Platja d'Aro and has lovely views. Restaurant staff were polite and friendly, but there weren’t enough people covering both the bar and restaurant. We often had to go into the restaurant to find someone to serve drinks at the bar. The hot breakfast options weren’t good quality.
