Apartamentos Portoalegre

We got there at 4 pm and the apartment was already ready. It was clean and smelled nice, with good quality bedding and just the right size. The terrace overlooking the canal was lovely. For six people, though, there wasn't enough crockery, and the pots and pans were small for cooking. We asked for a spare and it arrived quickly. Very good value for money, I'd recommend it.

The area was beautiful and the staff were friendly, and both rooms we stayed in were very nice. The upstairs one had great views too. But the rooms weren't very clean. The walls had scratches and stains from fluids I don't even want to think about, and it was clear the floors hadn't even been swept. We asked for toilet paper, soap, and dish sponges. They said they'd bring them, but they never came, so we had to buy them ourselves.

The reception staff were really friendly, and both pools were spotless. There are two, one for the apartments and another at the hotel that guests can use. The apartment itself was decent compared with others nearby, but the cleanliness was absolutely disgusting. It felt like nobody had ever cleaned it. I blame the cleaning ladies entirely. If they did the job properly, this place would be a 10/10, but it seemed like they were just there to flatter people and make easy money without doing any work.

We were left stranded six hours from home, with no help from them at all. The reservation got canceled over a payment method problem, even though we hadn’t had trouble with other purchases that day and tried several ways to sort it out. When I called, a woman told me to wait 10 minutes for the person who was supposed to help. By the time I reached him, he’d already accepted other guests without even trying to contact us. Then we had to put up with scolding, rudeness, and even a challenge like, “Come and tell me that in person.” Unbelievable. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place. The service leaves a lot to be desired.
