If you travel in a campervan, you can usually find somewhere to park quietly and enjoy being in nature. Please take away more than just your own rubbish when you can. We camper travelers need to look out for one another and for the places we visit. People use the same argument everywhere to push for banning free parking. If we all pick up litter whenever we head out into nature, perhaps these informal parking spots can stay open. Wishing you all safe travels and plenty of freedom.

We stumbled on Empuriabrava and really liked it. The canals are lovely to cycle beside, and getting around by bike is easy. We visited on Easter Monday in April, when there were still campervan spaces available. We didn't get around to seeing the surrounding area, so we'll have to come back.

The canals are really pretty, but the place as a whole isn't quite my thing. I didn't find a proper shopping street, just a few roads with three or four restaurants and a souvenir shop. The seafront has no shade, and the beach is huge. Some people will love that, of course. It's only my personal take.

It's quite a sight, with the town's canals running alongside its streets. The moorings are lined with striking boats, and there are lots of upscale villas. Definitely worth a visit. If you get the chance, hire one of the electric boats.

Empuriabrava has canals, a huge beach, and lively nights out, which gives it a real Spanish Venice feel. It's great for a sunny break, though the summer crowds can get heavy.
