We ended up paying €68 for two people after choosing the €19.50 menu. The restaurant drew us toward that menu, then added supplements that made it far more expensive than ordering dishes separately. The smiling waiter also told us the free glass of wine included with the menu wasn’t good and suggested a more expensive one, which cost extra. We’ve had set menus elsewhere for €30-50, but at least those places were upfront about the price. Seeing this bill was a shock. My advice to the owner is to be honest with customers. People can see what you’re doing, including locals who see it every day, and it’s bad for your reputation.
