Hotel Ampuria Inn

We were staying here while looking for a house in the area. It’s a basic place, but the service from the team was 7-star. They were incredible and made us feel at home. We arrived late at night and were still offered a complimentary drink of our choice. The room was basic but very clean, with a fridge. Thank you, Ampuria inn, for such a great stay and for looking after us so well.

If you’re skydiving and don’t have a car, the location is great. With a car, you could look at better places near the beach in roughly the same price range. The place itself is okay. Reception staff were super nice and helpful, but the rooms had too many mosquitoes and didn’t feel as clean as I’d like.

The pool is the only good part of this hotel. The rooms are basic, the beds barely comfortable, and the AC units work only some of the time. Staff were rude and acted like any question was a burden, then gave very rude answers. Although there’s a parking lot, no rules are enforced, so anyone can park anywhere, whether they’re a hotel guest or not. We had several rooms and were told not to expect a spot. Dimetry was beyond rude and mocked us when we asked for help finding somewhere to park. The hotel “director” was no help either. She kept saying parking is free, so she couldn’t help. This hotel isn’t worth the price.

We were hesitant about breakfast after reading the bad reviews, but we tried it and were glad we did. It cost 8,90 per person, with eggs and bacon, fresh bakery items, meat and vegetables kept fresh in the fridge, juice grannini, yogurt, and cereals. On our last day we ate in the garden by the pool, which was cozy. Parking is free, and there are two charging stations for electric cars that you can use for free. The location isn’t the best, but that makes it handy if you have an electric car. Aldi, Mercadona, Asia market, and Tedi are nearby, and it’s close to the canals. We traveled with my wife and mother and had a wonderful, spacious triple room, with a double bed for us and a single for my mother. The room was tidy and clean, with lots of cupboards and wardrobes, a very small fridge, a nice TV, and plenty of lamps. The bathroom surprised me: an amazing spa bath, a tub big enough for two, a hydromassage shower, and a rain shower. I’ve never seen that in a normal, not upgraded room. You can tell the room hasn’t been renovated recently and is worn, but everything worked as it should. We also had a balcony with a table and chairs. The pool is super cool, though the water was a bit cold and some features weren’t working in November. I saw the barbecue and grill station and cocktail bars, and can imagine how nice it must be in summer. There’s an indoor jacuzzi too, for 10 euro per person for one hour. You need to book, and it only operates limited hours, so book ahead. The lobby has magazines, maps, and a nice, rather fancy seating area. Overall the atmosphere is nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my mother was very happy with their service. Honestly, I’m quite surprised by the bad reviews!
