The cottage is lovely, and the owner responds quickly when you need something. It’s close to the town center and the beach, which makes it easy to go out in the evening. It does get hot inside, though. There’s no air conditioning, and leaving the doors open to sleep isn’t really possible with seagulls calling all night. The owner reassured me that fans would be provided for future guests. It’s an absolutely beautiful place...

The apartment’s a perfect size for a couple and the location is great. Cleanliness was the weak spot for me, maybe a 6, and the shower could use renovation or a fresh coat of paint. I gave everything a quick once-over and that was that.

Late March is a lovely time for a quiet walk by the port. You can enjoy the sunshine and sit out on a café terrace.

When the wind picks up, the surf is spectacular here. It’s a beautiful spot at the entrance to Empuriabrava harbor, looking out toward Roses on one side and the long main beach on the other.
