Albergue San Matías

The croquettes were spectacular, and the escarapuche and everything else we tried was great too. Huge portions, lovely terrace, and such friendly staff, with really good value for money. Both the restaurant and the hostel are fantastic. We'll definitely come back!

What upset me most was seeing two couples we knew arrive without a reservation later on. The waiter went to find them a table and offered them dinner, after telling us earlier that every table was reserved and he couldn't serve us food because it was busy. I understood that, and we'd only asked if we could sit for a soft drink. My son has limited mobility and needed a seat, so after I explained that at the bar, the other waitress helped us get a table off to the side. I confronted the waiter about what he'd done, paid, and left. It felt like my money counted for less than a City Hall public official's. They've lost me as a customer, and my friends won't go there either after this.

We were a group of cyclists on the Camino de Guadalupe, and they made us feel so welcome. The accommodation and food were good, but the service was the best part. Many thanks.

At least I enjoyed the town, the surrounding area, and the pilgrimage to Guadalupe. The place itself was dirty, the facilities were disappointing, and it was isolated, far from town. There was no hot water.
