Hotel Suite Mioño Castro

For a one-night stay, it does what you’d expect and is good value. It felt like a ghost hotel, though, since I never saw anyone, not even at reception.

We were freezing because the heating hadn’t been turned on, and the pillows looked used and hadn’t been changed from the previous guest. They didn’t clean our room because we hadn’t left a sign, and we never saw anyone at reception. Breakfast was basically coffee and toast, and we couldn’t have it because we hadn’t booked. When problems came up, the owner was rude instead of explaining or trying to fix them. The place was extremely expensive for what it offered and terrible in every way. There was nothing remotely acceptable about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, and I’d never go back.

There was no breakfast for us because we hadn’t reserved it. The employee said she could give us a coffee at most. Cleaning was also missing entirely unless you left a sign asking for it, and staff were so scarce that reception was always empty. Our room was spacious, but neglected, cold, and damp. The bathroom was large, though the hairdryer had no hose and the sink kept clogging. Weeds had taken over the terrace. The price didn’t match the quality at all.

Several families stayed here last weekend, and none of us plan to return. The owner was arrogant and got defensive when we told him about the poor service, without resolving anything. You have to call for help because reception is unattended. The pillows were worn, dirty, and hairy, and the carpets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. They don’t make up the rooms or even the beds, apparently because one person has to handle all the rooms, though the hotel isn’t very big. The heating wasn’t on, so we were freezing. Breakfast was another mess: first we were told coffee and pastries were available, then at the hotel we were told that without a booking we’d get nothing, or maybe just coffee. The hygiene was shockingly poor, and the price was far too high for this level of service. We won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Don’t stay here, there are many better options.
