Everywhere I looked there was something lovely, from the dining lounge and outdoor terrace to the pool, gardens, room, and balcony. It was just magic. Julia was a delight, and helped me park the car while putting my Spanish to good use. Her sister cooked an amazing dinner for our group of six. Pets are welcome, so I got to fuss over a dog belonging to some other guests. Loved the hospitality.

Quiet and tucked away, this family-run posada has old-fashioned elegance and charm. A lovely retreat, with a pretty village to explore, a good restaurant, and an excellent pool.

The restaurant was a bright spot, with really good food and friendly staff. The room, though, was cold and smelled damp when we arrived in midwinter. Reception said it “might be a little cold,” but I don’t understand why it hadn’t been warmed up before our arrival. The air conditioner was noisy and didn’t heat the room properly. After an hour with no improvement, they kindly brought us a radiator. The bathroom was cold too, and the owner said the heating in the shared areas had been switched off to save money. At €90 a night, it was a disappointment after the good reviews. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it in winter.

Doña Julia made us feel at home, looked after us wonderfully, and put together a lovely breakfast. The price was very good for what we got. The hotel has several beautiful rooms with tasteful, classic decor, though our room, 007, was on the small side and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. We stayed on a Monday, and the place was almost empty, with the restaurant, café, and other shared spaces dark or closed. I’d recommend it, but I wouldn’t choose a Monday for another stay.
