A comfortable apartment in a gated complex of five buildings, with a shared garden and swimming pool.

I was visiting a friend who owns the place. It’s right in the center of Cedeira, just 50 meters from the beach and 300 meters from the town center, and the facilities are excellent.

The beach is lovely, with fine white sand and hardly any seaweed, though the water is very cold. You can walk along the shore to the town center in about 10 minutes. There’s a bar and beach bar next door, plus a large park. Two supermarkets, shops, a pharmacy, tobacconist, lottery outlets, restaurants and ATMs are a five-minute drive away. It’s a peaceful, beautiful town, and we’ll definitely return. We stayed in one of the smaller family apartments facing the beach. It had a kitchen, dining space, sofa bed, terrace, double bedroom and bathroom. There was plenty provided: a washing machine, kitchenware, towels, linens and a fully equipped kitchen. There was a table for four, terrace furniture, two TVs and a bathtub. I’d recommend it for a couple or a family with one or two children. The shared pool is only about 1.60 meters deep, so small children need supervision at all times. There’s also an outdoor wooden picnic area. The apartment has no steps into the bedroom or bathroom, but there’s a step up to the terrace from the living room or bedroom, which can make access difficult for wheelchair users. The kitchen is at standard height. Pets are allowed. We brought our rabbit without any trouble. Dogs can come and go easily, but aren’t allowed in the pool, mini-park or picnic area. There’s free street parking, and parking is included in the reservation too. It’s a great area for families with children, couples or sports. We recommend the octopus, calamari, pork loin, Galician-style pork and scallops. The ice cream from the beach stand is delicious as well.
