Exe Parc del Vallés

The hotel is getting old, and the gym was one of the worst I've seen in a 4-star hotel. Several things were broken or missing, so you could only run or use a bike. The staff and breakfast were great!

The breakfast was average, and the hotel is far from the city center. There wasn’t even a tea and coffee station in the room, nothing. We booked eight months ahead, expecting the Junior Suite shown on the website, but at check-in we got an ordinary room instead. I spent a whole day trying to resolve it, while staff kept insisting that was the right room. It was very disappointing. In the end we moved to a standard double room, which was also basic and had a very noisy bed.

It’s the only hotel within walking distance of the synchrotron, and it has some good points: large rooms, a very good breakfast, and a swimming pool in summer. But for me, it doesn’t meet the standard of a 4-star hotel. There’s no coffee or food available after breakfast until dinner, and the nearest coffee shop is a 30-minute walk away. My room smelled of cigarettes and was only more or less clean. There’s nowhere to hang clothes in the bathroom, no toilet brush, and no bottle of water in the room. There were a lot of mosquitoes, and the bed made a lot of noise whenever I turned over at night. The gym was averagely equipped, with no mats, towels, or water.

David is a top guy, and I really enjoyed our conversations. When I got sick during my trip, Victor was a big help too. He offered me tea and directions to pharmacies. The only downside was that it’s a bit far from the city, and my room didn’t have a balcony.
