The Hostal gets five stars from me for the price, location, and overall stay. It’s a lovely place in a lovely place, in a beautiful and interesting city. I spent several days there and had great weather. The city is extremely clean and well kept, more so than most mainland Spanish cities I know. I slept well, and the people were friendly and brought me extra towels when I needed them. There was quite a bit of street noise, but it didn’t bother me. Some rooms are much quieter than mine, so ask to switch if you need that. When I arrived, there were hairs on the room floor, though the bed and bathroom were spotless. Everything was cleaned properly the next day, so I think that was just a small glitch.

Skip single room N7. It’s tiny, claustrophobic, smelly, and poor value at 45 euros. There are steps to get in and to reach the bathroom, and its window faces a light well only about 20 cm wide. The people are nice, but that doesn’t change my bad review.

For what you pay, this hostel is a great deal. It’s well located, the rooms are clean and have what you need, and the staff are friendly and speak English. You get your own room and bed or beds, so it isn’t a typical hostel.

The location is handy and central, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English. My clean, modern room was surprisingly spacious for a single. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re on a budget.
