Apartamentos La Columna

The little shower was the one thing I couldn't understand. The water pressure was fine, but the cubicle is so small that the hydromassage showerhead takes up too much room and isn't comfortable. Otherwise, we had everything we needed in this roughly 50-square-metre apartment right by Chinchón's main square, beside its excellent restaurant. There's a small living room with a TV, air conditioning, a king-size bed measuring 1.80 metres, rustic decor, and a pleasant outdoor patio for reading or smoking when the weather allows. The owners were very friendly. There are also a two-burner ceramic hob, microwave, and a 55-inch plasma TV in the large bedroom. We thought it was excellent, though €96 for Saturday night to Sunday felt a bit pricey. We'd return.

The manager was very kind about sorting out a small mismatch in the Booking.com description. The place itself is fantastic: welcoming, full of village character, and I can't think of a fault. The decor, location, and amenities all worked perfectly for us. I'd recommend it and would come back when we're in the area again.

The phone conversations were pretty impolite, and my experience overall was terrible. The apartment listing said there was a kitchen, but mine didn't have one. The owners agreed there was a discrepancy and still did nothing about it. I don't trust this place. Do what you want, but I suspect the many positive reviews are fake or written by friends. Booking.com also gets a very bad review from me over this, along with the apartments, because of how badly I was treated.

The bathroom never got very warm, so we left the door open and let the heat from the living room drift in. That was the only drawback. The apartment is comfortable and warm, right on Chinchón's main square, and easy to access. Everyone was really friendly. The restaurant is across the street, but the staff brought our food over to the apartment anyway.
