Casa independiente y completa con una habitación "Venta de Cidones"

We had everything we needed for a comfortable week in this lovely little house. It was very clean, and the owner had equipped it thoughtfully, with decor that fits its surroundings. The building dates from the 18th century and once housed an old inn that Machado dedicated a poem to, "Venta de Cidones ". We travelled in August and could really feel how the thick walls kept out both the cold and the heat. Cidones is ideally placed, very close to Soria and a good base for exploring the province. The owner was very kind and attentive to anything we might need. I highly recommend it.

A lovely, very quiet setting for walks or visits to small towns such as Burgo de Osma, and Soria is close by. Cidones itself is an extremely quiet village without much to offer. Parking is easy and very near the accommodation. Phone coverage was excellent, and on the first day my mobile data was more than enough for a work meeting. We found everything comfortable and clean, with all the essentials for a couple's getaway. Javier, the owner, was friendly and approachable. We booked through Booking.com for €82/night over the December 24th long weekend, and he let us bring our 7-year-old pointer, who was fantastic. The only small drawbacks were the low bedroom lamp, which my 1.90-meter-tall husband keeps bumping his head on, and the lack of wine glasses.

A peaceful village with a small bar and a children's park nearby. We had a relaxing weekend by the fireplace, and the place was well equipped to keep us warm. The kitchen had everything we needed, so we didn't have to bring a thing.

Did anyone else notice that Antonio Machado wrote a poem about this inn? It's Poem XXI in Campos de Castilla, titled "To the Master Azorín for his book Castilla."
