The water situation was awkward: we had to fill up in the bathroom or at the garage washbasin. There was no kitchen access at all, and if you brought outside food, you had to eat it in the garage or outdoors. The spaghetti cost $15. The six-bed room had only one outlet, no sheet, no heat, no working Wi-Fi in the room, and none of the lockers listed on Booking.com. It was very cold, and I was told not to use the blankets because they weren't washed between guests. When the hosts cooked, the smell got through the whole house and into my clothes. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Fransisco and Maria were rude, never smiled, and had a very bad attitude. I tried to stay cheerful and smile when speaking with them, but got frowns in return. It spoiled my whole day. They shouldn't run an albergue if they don't want people in their home. They don't seem to like foreigners. Why own an albergue? Read the reviews first, since others mentioned the same things. Nasty people. Good luck, and take their advice to go to Santo Domingo instead. The owners' response to my review said they were tired of dealing with people who weren't pilgrims, called me a capricious child who got angry when things weren't done the way I wanted, and said the rating reflected me, not them. They said I should have walked farther to the PARADOR DE SANTO DMINGO, and hoped the Camino would teach me something by the time I returned to my country. They ended with “Have a good journey.”

The dorm had eight beds and a sparkling clean bathroom, plus a lovely rooftop terrace to relax on. Drinks and snacks were available from a vending machine, and there was a laundry room in the garage. The kitchen, though, was for private use only. They serve dinner and breakfast, with dinner costing 12-14€ and several choices. The pescado was nice, though a bit salty.

The terrace and dorm room were nice, and the food ended up being the best I've had so far among the dishes I've tried at several albergues. The pasta was really good, and I had chicken breast with a side that seemed to be some kind of pepper and went well with it. The meal was reasonably priced. I'm a pilgrim on the Camino and would recommend this place. I was disappointed that they wouldn't let me use the kitchen, but the meals they offered were very nice.

We were surprised by how spacious the private rooms were, and the bathroom was large too. Everything was extremely clean, and the owner was very sweet. He didn't speak English and we know very little Spanish, so we got by laughing and using hand signals. The pilgrim dinner was wonderful, and he got up early to make us toast and coffee. It's a little off the trail, but the service and meals made it well worth the detour.

Maria and Francisco made my son and me feel at home in their warm, comfortable house. They were very helpful with our travel and gave us good advice about luggage transport. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we left well rested and refreshed, ready to continue on the Camino. Albergue Victoria was wonderful. Thank you, Maria and Francisco. Blessings!
