The winery tour was fascinating, and the white Tempranillo was unusual and excellent. We also had a very good dinner in the bodega dining room, where service stayed smooth even with our big group. After a bike route in the area, the accommodating hotel staff made our one-night stay easy. The lounge and terrace were lovely spots to relax at sunset. Upstairs, the rooms are modern, with huge beds and views across the La Mancha countryside. The downstairs rooms are more modest and could probably use some attention. All in all, highly recommended.

A day I’ll remember. The winery visit was great, but the wine tasting with tapas was the highlight. Carlos was our guide and cook, and when we looked at the lunch menu he came out and told us, “leave it to me.” He was right, absolutely fantastic. An unforgettable experience.

The river walk by the vineyard was lovely in the evening, and there’s a national park about 40 minutes away by car that’s well worth visiting. Ignacio, the owner, was a gracious host, and we had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. The hospitality made for a very enjoyable stay.
