Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo

Service is friendly and attentive, and the restaurant’s traditional Castilian food gets a refined touch from locally sourced ingredients. The peaceful gardens and evenings by the fireplace make it a restful base between walks through the medieval streets. A great choice for couples, history fans, or anyone wanting to experience the culture of Castilla y León. Highly recommended.

The hilltop location made it easy to get to all the sights in Cuidad Rodrigo, and the castle hotel itself is amazing. The renovated rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with hot options. A castle turned into a hotel and restaurant, and a fantastic place to stay.

Our child’s Baptism at the Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo was magical, and Estela coordinated every part of it wonderfully. She handled our 400,000 questions with a smile and took care of even the smallest details, so the whole day went as smoothly as it could. The setting is fantastic: the castle sits on a hill, built into the old walls that once guarded and still surround the city. After recent restorations lasting around 10 months, inside and out, it’s in great shape. The medieval dining room, and the castle as a whole, made for an experience my family and I won’t forget. The food was delicious, the wine and drinks were wonderful, and the cleanliness, preparation, care, and thought put into everything were top-notch. Estela, thanks so much again! Tyler and Maria

The gardens are beautiful, and the terrace bar is lovely. The town was a complete surprise, with lots of restaurants, bars, things to do, and magical architecture. It’s a beautiful hotel in a stunning town, definitely worth a stay. I’d have given it five stars, but the lack of a swimming pool brought it down to four.
