Club Ciudadela Aparthotel

We’re just about to head home after a lovely week. The apartments are spacious, with a large kitchen, full-size cooker and fridge-freezer, though the rooms were looking a little tired at the end of the season. It’s an easy walk to the beach and harbour. The supermarkets were a bit expensive, and this time of year their fridges were pretty bare for fresh food.

We spent a week at club Ciudadela with three friends and had a great time. The owners and staff were welcoming, the apartments had lovely, spacious rooms, and the pool was a great size. It’s a quiet place to stay, and we’re planning to come back in September.

A nice little place if you’re after some peace and quiet. The location is handy for the supermercado, bus stop, beach and marina, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Ciao Belli is a must if you like pizza, and we met some lovely people too. The fans in the rooms didn’t really do the job, though, so air conditioning would be a welcome upgrade. Enjoy!

We returned because we liked this hotel last year, and we still like the rooms, location and staff. This time, though, two things let us down. The WiFi wasn’t usable for the first 8-9 days. It showed up, but the signal wouldn’t hold a connection, so we relied on mobile data. After the response we got about the shower, we didn’t feel like reporting it. The upgraded shower had no overhead bracket for the shower head, so it was more like a foot shower. It was awkward for me, and with my wife’s long hair I had to hold the head for her while she washed it. We made a makeshift holder with the towel ladder and some pegs we’d brought, but the cleaning staff took it down. We put it back up. We asked reception about the problem, but felt they dismissed it because they couldn’t see what the issue was. That was the most disheartening part. It’s a shame, because we really do like this hotel.
