Smoix Hotel

Room N°1 on the ground floor was tiny, though pleasant enough, and the location in Ciutadella was good. But privacy and security were poor: its only window faced sideways onto a busy street, so we had to keep it shut in the dark. Street noise came through around the clock, and at night we also heard people at the restaurant next door, with no sound insulation. The week-long stay felt far too expensive for what was offered, especially with so many other competitive boutique hotels nearby. There was only a fridge in the room, no coffee machine, water, or other utilities. Reception was available only in the morning, and the person there spoke Spanish but not English.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the rooms were very good in a nice location. I’d recommend the hotel, though probably not the breakfast.

We felt at home here. It shows that you don’t need anything extravagant to have good taste, and the design and decorating details deserve real credit.

The owner was incredibly friendly, and breakfast was very good. It’s a small, lovely hotel close to the city centre, with a restaurant next door. Highly recommended!
