La Malasanha

The garden was our favorite part, and the house itself is very pretty. We stayed over Holy Week, but didn’t rate it higher because the house seemed quite dirty and there was a serious ant problem. They were everywhere, in the bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen. You do eventually get used to the bells ringing all day, but the pub next door played very loud music late into the night.

We loved the garden most: it’s spacious, lovely, private from the neighbors, and has two fountains that are great for cooling off in summer, plus plenty of room for kids to play. The porch stays shaded, making it comfortable for lunch or dinner and perfect for a barbecue. The house is clean, welcoming and well kept, with everything a family needs. It’s in the center of a pleasant village, on a quiet street next to the church. There are supermarkets nearby, and although the bells didn’t bother us too much, we could hear them. The owners were attentive and ready to help. A wonderful stay, and we’re already planning another weekend there.

The front garden is lovely, and a large window brings in plenty of daylight, making the house a nice place to relax. It’s great for a family or group, very clean, and everything was in perfect condition. The owners gave us a warm welcome.

I’m sorry I can’t give this cozy, very nice house five stars, especially since the owner was friendly. The garden is a highlight, but the place looked bigger in the photos than it really is. Our biggest issue was the church right next door. Its bells rang every fifteen minutes for quite a while, until midnight and again from 8 a.m. They kept waking us up and made it hard to rest.
