Torreta de Sant Tomàs

Staying in this tower on the old city wall, right in the heart of Cocentaina, was a unique experience. It has some charming, original spaces, including the kitchen. The layout is the main drawback: because the tower is tall and narrow, there are three floors to climb between the entrance and bathroom downstairs, the kitchen on the first floor, two bedrooms on the second, and a very spacious living room on the third. One bedroom has two single beds, while the other has a double and a bunk bed, so you’ll be going up and down stairs for everything.

The owner was fantastic, and the house was equipped to the max, with heaters that made it perfect for winter. We had a wonderful three days and have lovely memories of the place. It’s beautiful, with many parts of its past preserved, and has everything you need for a few days. The beds couldn’t be more comfortable. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed this charming house. It’s arranged over four floors, with the bathroom on the ground floor, kitchen on the first, bedrooms on the second, and living room at the top, so watch the stairs if you have children. The kitchen is small but well equipped, and there’s a wood-burning stove along with radiators in the bedrooms and bathroom. The San Cristóbal picnic area is nearby and would be perfect for a day with the kids. The woman who looks after the house is very kind and friendly.

We loved our long weekend and would happily come back for another. The owner was kind and attentive, and even let us in early when we arrived ahead of schedule. Though the house is very old and has four floors, it smelled clean and well cared for as soon as we walked in. We weren’t cold at all with just the radiators and wood-burning stoves, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Safari Aitana is about a half-hour drive away and definitely worth seeing. The whole stay was the best experience ever.
