La Gambina

Colera doesn't have many hotel options in the off-season, and we enjoyed staying here, though we found it rather expensive. We were welcomed warmly, and our spacious room had a huge terrace with a sea view. Breakfast was simple but good. Having a restaurant downstairs is handy, although I imagine it can sometimes be noisy.

The portions were generous and the food was good, especially the Bailey’s tiramisu :) Janna, our waitress, was excellent at her job. The restaurant is in a good location too.

We went for dinner with my family on a weekday at 9 PM. My son chose a sandwich he'd seen at another table, even though it wasn't on the menu. Just after we ordered, a staff member told us, quoting them, “The boss said we can make the sandwich, but he will have to eat it on the bar, not on the restaurant table.” They seem to count on having little competition. If you can, avoid the restaurant.

We spent half a day in Colera-Spain and had lunch at La Gambina. The local paella was delicious, served in front of the beach, and the service was good. Our waiter spoke French too.
