Hostal Can Missè

I’m still baffled by how unsafe and unsupported I felt here. I was traveling alone from America, and after I was attacked, staff who had seen the person still let him into the hotel and spoke with him while I tried to stay safe in my room. I even showed one worker a video of the attack, but she told me to be quiet because the owner might hear and get upset. I was told they didn’t want police at the hotel because hotels are supposed to be tranquil places. I wish my stay had been peaceful, but it wasn’t. I had a tachycardia emergency and asked the morning staff every day to call the police. They smiled, spoke with me in Spanish and English, and said they would call, but they never did. There was no phone in my room or at reception. A taxi card was beside the brochures, but neither number worked, and the town has no taxis or Ubers. I finally reached the police myself and filed a report. A woman from America then explained how I could walk to the bus station and get back to the airport. Staff offered no help with that. Getting into the place was difficult too. I arrived at night to find everything locked and nobody there. I waited in the cold for two hours with poor phone reception, then managed to reach my booking agency while walking through the village. They contacted the hostel, which gave me a door code. My room had no toiletries, and I went to sleep. The next morning's breakfast was quite nice, and the atmosphere seemed inviting. During my stay, there was no toilet paper when I needed it, no toiletries, no fresh towels, and the room wasn't cleaned daily. There were no drinks or meals besides breakfast. I was dehydrated and had medical needs, and felt ignored. The bathtub was damaged too. After I left early to get somewhere safe, the owner wouldn't refund me even though the room could be offered to another guest. My booking agency was told the hostel had tried to contact me, which wasn't true. The number on the paper with the room key never worked while I was there. Although the town and facility seem nice, I can't recommend this place. This is simply what happened to me, and I wouldn't want another traveler to go through it.
