La Posada de Colomera

The inn is pleasant, though it’s spread over several floors and has no elevator. Getting there means driving a very winding road. Our room had air conditioning and a small TV, and otherwise things were fine. Breakfast was simple, just coffee and toast with butter and jam, plus a slice of cake. I would’ve liked more towels, a rack to hang wet ones in the bathroom, and a soap dispenser in the shower. The mattress was too soft for us, and we kept sinking into it.

The ride with our guide, Pepe Eduardo, was fantastic. He knows the area’s history inside out and is a skilled professional. The horses are gentle and easy to ride. It’s a peaceful place with a family feel and a warm welcome. I’ll definitely return with my daughter.

We only stayed one night, and it felt too short. My boyfriend and I used a gift box we’d received for our birthday, choosing this place because it was the closest match to the two-hour horseback riding activity we’d planned. We were amazed by how lovely the family running the business were. Dinner and breakfast were both better than we could’ve hoped for, with super tasty food and beautiful rustic decor. It’s such a peaceful inn, just right if you want to relax by the pool. Highly recommend it, and we’ll come back one day for a longer stay.

The house has charming traditional decor, and the beds were clean and neatly made. But the price felt completely out of line with the service. We were three couples for a weekend and paid €120 per couple through a Wonderbox, so I’m not sure whether the fault lies with the gift box or the rural house itself. One bathroom had a really unpleasant smell that made the room uncomfortable and unsanitary. When we told the owner, she brought an air freshener, but didn’t deal with the cause. There were barely any toiletries, just four shampoo sachets for two people over two days and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Breakfast was our only meal there, and it was very limited, with no variety: butter, jam, oil and tomato, but no cold cuts. In response to the owner’s reply: they say we were inconsiderate and had a drinking party, but that’s made up. We never drank alcohol. We arrived Friday at 8 pm and were all back in our rooms by 10 pm. On Saturday we left at 11 am and didn’t return until 10 pm, and on Sunday we were out again by 11 am. They also invented the disorder and claimed they fixed the smell. I meant to leave constructive feedback, but since they won’t acknowledge what needs improving, they’ll just carry on as before. I won’t book with them again and don’t recommend them. I gave three stars because I thought things could improve and they deserved that chance. But given that they’re also liars, I’d give zero if I could.
