Alojamiento Rural El Gomis

Clara and her family were so attentive throughout our stay at El Gomis, and the house itself was fully equipped and great for families, kids, and pets. We especially liked the barbecue in the garden and the beautiful surroundings, which made it easy to relax for a few days. We had a very positive stay and will definitely come back. Good luck!

The house itself is lovely, with beautiful decor, and once it gets warm it’s really comfortable, though heating it takes a while. The village and countryside around it are charming. Our first impression, however, was poor because three of the six bedrooms were locked when we arrived. We raised this with the host. They pointed to one part of the listing calling them double rooms and another saying rooms would be locked depending on guest numbers. We had booked the whole house with six bedrooms and eight beds, as the contract stated, and we weren’t a couple. They offered either to open one room or charge us another €100. We declined both and contacted Airbnb, which eventually sorted things out and got all the bedrooms opened. We also only found out on arrival that things listed among the amenities, including firewood and charcoal, cost extra. Without the bedroom issue at the start, we would have come away with a very positive impression.

The house works well for a family weekend, and pets are welcome if you want to bring one. The renovated parts look lovely, and although the mattresses aren't especially comfortable, you can sleep on them. The kitchen sink is blocked, and there are enough ants that you have to ask their permission to get into the kitchen. Small things, but still there. The town is small and its people are friendly, so it's a good spot if you want to get away from everything. The pool was the big problem. I was looking forward to using it in summer, but it was cloudy, with dirt settled on the bottom and lots of long, winged biting bugs living in the water. They didn't seem like insects that had just flown in from the garden. We told the owner, who sent someone with a chlorine and pH meter. He added chemicals to clear the water and make the dirt settle, but the bottom wasn't vacuumed and the pump wasn't left filtering long enough. By the next day the bugs were gone, but we still couldn't use the pool.

The porch is lovely and made summer more pleasant, since the living room and kitchen are both quite small. The house isn't bad, but one of the upstairs bathrooms has no toilet, even though it's been renovated. The pool was green too, so they paid for our admission to the sports center.
