After five months living here, things ended on a very sour note. We had to move twice because the internet kept failing, which was completely unacceptable for someone working online who can't be without a connection. In the first house it was always cold, the doors wouldn't shut properly, and the air conditioning didn't work right. While moving furniture, I found built-up dirt and things left by the previous tenant, including medication. Isabel told us it belonged to a sick person who had lived there before. I cleaned it up without making a fuss. The second house looked nicer, but the microwave was in a deplorable state when we arrived, and there were no cleaning products to deal with it. We were promised repairs that never happened: a broken lamp stayed that way for four months, the doors were faulty, and the technician who was supposedly always about to come never showed. The only technician who did come was for the internet, after we kept insisting. Outside, branches and fallen leaves were left lying around, and the grass hadn't been cut for months. When we were leaving, we even offered to pay for a final cleaning, after already paying €2,500 for the accommodation. Instead, we were sent a photo of the microwave, in the same condition it had been in before our arrival, and accused of being "abnormal" and leaving the house in the worst state they had ever seen. We came on Verónica's recommendation. She's a wonderful person, and dealing with her was completely different: communication was clear, things were well maintained, and there was mutual trust. I wish I could have stayed with her longer. I appreciate her help with transportation and shopping, but this last situation speaks for itself. I hope this gives them something to reflect on about how they communicate with tenants.
