FERGUS Conil Park

The hotel, rooms and staff were all really nice, and it’s very close to the beach. It turned out even better than I expected. I’d definitely recommend it and will come back.

We found the pool clean and roomy enough for everyone staying there, and the rooms were spacious, very clean and seemed fairly recently renovated. It’s a smaller hotel than some others in Spain, set right on the promenade in Conil, with the beach about a two minute walk downhill. A good holiday club, though there were a few drawbacks. At reception, we didn’t get much explanation on arrival about how things worked. When we asked where the restaurant was or how payment for the garage and drinks worked, the responses left us feeling like schoolchildren. There was a decent selection at breakfast and dinner, and plenty of food, so we didn’t have to wait long. The freshness of the fruit could be better, and hot food wasn’t always kept warm. Sometimes items like the fries were already cold in the serving bowl. The hotel garage costs 15€ per day. There are lots of free parking spots outside, but it was often tight in the afternoon when local people were at the beach, so the garage was often the only practical option. All in all, a good place on the Costa de la Luz, with some limitations.

This was my second visit with a group of friends, and Servan the entertainer was the highlight. We had a brilliant afternoon playing pool games and bingo. The location is great, the pool facilities are very good, the mojitos from the pool bar were lovely, and the staff were friendly. Our room was a bit small, with two single beds pushed together instead of a double. A kettle and coffee in the room would have been nice. Parking was a real hassle: the hotel lot was full all weekend, and we were told to find a space outside. Since it was August, we spent more than 1.5hrs searching for somewhere free. A frustrating start to the holiday.

The breakfast spread was brilliant and the place was very clean. Staff were friendly, fun, helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Definitely recommend it.
