Hostal Paco Pepe

Nice place.

We picked this hostel for its location, near the city center but away from the bustle, and that part was perfect. The room and its contents were a letdown for the price, though. The sheets, mattress, pillows, and towels were poor quality. The air conditioning leaked onto the terrace, where the water collected in a jug and overflowed, and the blinds didn't work well. We also couldn't enter the building on our own. Every time, we had to ring for someone to let us in, which was inconvenient for us, the owners, and other guests. The owners live in an apartment inside the hostel and leave the doors open, so we heard their everyday arguments. On another occasion, loud shouting woke us at 2:00 a.m., along with some very inappropriate comments. The price is disproportionate to what the hostel offers.

The town is small, so everything is fairly close, and the location isn't bad. But even for a one-star hostel, the rooms could use an update. The mattress and pillow weren't decent, and there was only one used roll of toilet paper. The towels were in terrible shape, and the toilet barely flushed.

The beds were comfortable, the room was cleaned whenever we wanted, and the shutters were a nice surprise since you don’t see them much in Conil. The location worked well too: close to the center and beach, away from the noise, and handy for getting out of town by car. Parking was generally fine, depending on the time. The awkward part was having to call the owner to be let in every time. They always answered quickly, but it felt uncomfortable, especially when coming back late. I also missed having hooks for the sink towel and somewhere to hang clothes in the room. And the entrance door is loud enough to wake you if someone comes in during the night.
