Finca Can Lluc

The location worked well for us, with quick access to the airport, Palma, and the Tramuntana Mountains. We paid about €1,800 for four nights for six people, which felt reasonable; at more than twice that for a summer week, though, I wouldn’t be happy with the condition of the place. We stayed at Finca Can Lluc for four nights around the end of October and start of November 2024. The house and grounds are lovely, surrounded by trees, and the brick pool is a real highlight. It’s at least 10 meters long, slopes from about 1.6 to 2 meters deep, and is big enough to swim in. There’s a lawn with loungers around it, plus a covered veranda with seating for eight and a working, though very worn, pool table. Another table sits under the trees, and there’s a second living area in a separate building that we didn’t use. The house has four bedrooms for eight, two bathrooms, a kitchen with a large fridge and freezer compartments, and a living room with a TV and fireplace. But it’s due for renovation in several places. Some small tiles around the pool are coming loose. The sofas are worn, and there were lots of cobwebs, which we swept away ourselves. When we arrived, the house smelled damp and musty, as if it hadn’t been used for a while. Opening the windows a day earlier would have helped. The kitchen light is in poor shape, and although it still works, it needs replacing. The coffee maker was completely clogged with limescale and didn’t work, so a new one is needed. In the bathrooms, the shower screens didn’t work properly and the shower heads were so scaled up that water sprayed in all directions. At least the water was warm and the pressure was fine. We dealt with the landlord over WhatsApp in English. A young man who said he was the owners’ grandson came by to collect the deposit and taxes. We mentioned that one shower wasn’t draining properly, and someone came to fix it about two hours later, which I appreciated. It’s a beautiful property, but a lot of the house needs attention.
