Azafrán Consuegra Casa Rural

It took some effort to find, but it was fabulous once we got there. The breakfast was lovely, and Chon was friendly and really helpful. I'd definitely stay again.

Chon shared useful information about the town and the Saffron Festival from the start of our email exchange, and was a very helpful hostess. She also made us a lovely breakfast with manchego cheese and other local favorites. We stayed three nights, arriving for the local festival on the last weekend of October. The casa rural is just a few steps from the staircase up to the windmills. WiFi is included, and parking can be reserved, but there are only two spaces for four rooms, so ask early if you need one. The house was very clean and tastefully decorated, within three blocks of Plaza España and local restaurants. Most places open for dinner at 9pm, and reservations are strongly recommended during busy periods. We were traveling with our six-year-old son, so they put an extra single bed in our room. It was a little tight with both beds, but we managed fine. The beds are firm, and Chon can provide extra pillows if needed. Consuegra is a charming, walkable town with welcoming people and lots of traditions. The whole town comes alive for its fiestas. It's close to Toledo and a convenient meeting point between Andalucía, Madrid, and northern Spain. Two nights should be enough unless you plan to explore more of the region from there. We found the location really convenient, easy to reach by car and just two minutes from Plaza de España, in the heart of Consuegra. The house is beautiful and well kept, with lovely shared spaces inside and out. Our room was comfortable, brand new, and had every detail covered for a pleasant stay. The host worked hard to make us feel at home and ensure everything went well. With so much comfort and so much to see in this charming town, it's worth staying more than one day. Definitely a great choice.
