Hotel Consuegra

The personal service was a real plus, perhaps because it's a small hotel. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and everything felt fresh and very clean. A lovely find. I'd definitely stay again when we're back in Bilbao.

The room was spotless and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had unusual decor. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, and the one next door was closed. Finding the entrance was tricky since the front looks like a private home, and there's no disabled access. It's a small-town hotel on a main road.

A lovely, clean little place, with comfortable beds and pillows. We got a warm greeting and lots of suggestions for things to do nearby. It worked well as a stop to break up our drive to the airport. Bring earplugs in case other guests come in late and bang doors, though that can happen anywhere. The attached restaurant, pub, or cafe was the real problem. They seemed to put locals first, made us wait for breakfast until everyone else had been served, and charged us too much. You can see my separate review at Jardines de Consuegra.

After a long drive, this beautifully kept two-star place was exactly what my wife and I needed on our way from santander to malaga. The rooms were amazing, the staff were so friendly, and pets are allowed too. We hadn't known about the lovely town of Consuegra just outside, with its old windmills and castle. The price was hard to believe for such a nice hotel. In the UK, a four-star room would cost four times as much and be half the size.
