Casa Patio de los Arcos

The hostess was so kind, polite, and helpful, even giving us a map. There were apples for guests, plus water, tea, and coffee. Our room also had cookies, toothbrushes with toothpaste, and a bar of soap. They can hold your luggage, which is handy if you arrive early or want to keep seeing the city after checkout. We booked through Booking and had a room with a private bathroom. It was lovely and close to everything. There's no AC, just a fan, but luckily we came at the end of summer, when the nights were in the 60sf. This was my first stay in a ‘hostel’, and it went way beyond what I expected.

The courtyard was lovely and well maintained, and the staff were friendly. It's a short walk to the Roman bridge and Mezquita, with a supermarket just a few minutes away. Antonio kindly called me a taxi to the train station when I left. My room was clean and the bed comfortable, though it wasn't the room I'd booked with a bathtub. The shower was nice and hot. I was next to reception, so there was some noise, and the bathroom was communal and outside the room. They left two little cakes in the room, a nice touch. There was also a place outside the room to make tea and coffee, with water, apples, biscuits, and sweets.

The hotel is beautiful and really captures Andalusian heritage. The toilet was tidy, and the service was excellent and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

The family who runs Pension Los Arcos were wonderful and did their best to make us comfortable. There's a gate that guests open with a key, as well as the room key, and the area felt very safe. They have a story of humanitarian work that I respect deeply, though it involves family members, so I won't share details. The world would be better if more people were like them. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable, very clean, and well kept. I've paid more for smaller rooms elsewhere. There's a microwave, tables and chairs on the first floor, and water and light snacks. Upstairs there's a shared lounge area, though I forgot to take pictures. We usually stick to bottled water, especially with kids, but the tap water tasted clean and crisp, and we all drank it without any problems afterward. The location is excellent. Pension Los Arcos is less than a leisurely 10-minute walk from the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba Monument and the Puente Romano de Córdoba bridge, with lots of places nearby for meals, snacks, sweets, carriage rides, and tours. We arrived in Cordoba by train, and the walk from Cordoba Central Train Station takes about 25 minutes. You can also take a taxi, since there is no Uber in Cordoba, or a bus. The walk is pleasant, with photo spots and plenty of places to stop for food or a snack. If we come back to Cordoba, this will be my first choice.
