Hotel Boutique Suite Generis

We booked months ahead and paid three times the standard daily rate. We especially wouldn't book through booking.com, since its cancellation policy meant we couldn't cancel. The hotel was unstaffed about 85% of the time, and staff from its sister hotel checked us in without giving us any guidance. Several days before arrival, we emailed and were told breakfast was included. At check-in, we were told it wasn't, and nobody could clarify until after breakfast the next day. Sadly, we had booked two nights. Agustin was kind the following day and tried to help, but management had disempowered the onsite staff. Management also offered to meet with us, then didn't show.

For what it offers, I found this place mediocre and expensive, so I'm not sure why the reviews are so good. It's OK if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but nothing stood out. The location is very central but on a quiet street, there's a free coffee machine at the entrance, and the WiFi is decent. On the downside, there's no reception for check-in, just a WhatsApp number. Rooms are small and minimal, and sound insulation isn't great: you hear people nearby and coming and going often. They also insisted we enter all our information in an online system that didn't feel very safe.

The staff gave super service, and breakfast was a lovely light meal included in the price. The en suite room was well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The design is really interesting, so have a look at the photos. You're right in the center of old Córdoba, around the corner from the Plaza de la Corredera and a short walk from the Mosque Cathedral. A real find!

The room was really small. It was fine for one night with our small suitcases, but a large one wouldn't have fitted. For the size compared with the price, we wouldn't come back. The room was cleaner than an average hotel and smelled nice when we entered. Breakfast was fresh and really nice. The best things about this hotel are the employees and the breakfast. The staff were lovely, explained the main sights, and recommended places for lunch.
