Hotel Mezquita Center

The rooftop pool and terrace were a lovely bonus, and it wasn't noisy for a city hotel. We had lunch at the hotel cafe, which was tasty, and the staff were great. Our room was clean and spacious, too. The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from the old part of the city, with a pleasant route through the park, which was a nice way to walk off dinner on the way back. It's in a great spot if you're arriving by train or coach. We loved staying here.

The location, right across from the train station, is convenient, with a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the old city and shopping area. Breakfast was outstanding, with a thoughtfully chosen range, a practical buffet setup, and excellent service. The hotel is spotless throughout, the linens are high quality, and housekeeping is quiet and efficient. Staff we met were polite, professional, and well trained. Check-in was welcoming, courteous, and informative, and the fast, top-quality elevators were another plus. It's a brand-new, well-designed, well-run property using premium products. The room was huge, larger than any I've stayed in, with useful light controls and USB and C cable sockets on both sides of the bed. There was also a large luggage rack that fit two suitcases and a roomy desk. As a Sheraton General Manager, I congratulate the management and ownership on this outstanding hotel. It's well worth what we paid, and I wish them a quick return on their investment.

We had a great stay in this new, modern hotel, with a comfortable, clean room, attentive staff, and lots of luxurious touches. The walk to the attractions is long, over 20 minutes, though it takes you past interesting university grounds. We also had dinner at CEBU next door, and it was great. We'd paid for breakfast, but our departure was too early for it. The staff wouldn't cancel the package and offered a picnic box instead. It was the saddest-looking breakfast ever and poor value as a substitute.

We really liked the hotel's location by the train station, about a 15-20 minute walk to the city wall, and the restaurant nearby was excellent. The staff at reception were very friendly. Parking right outside for arrival and departure was very convenient, with extra parking beneath the hotel available at a fair nightly price. Opened in June 2025, the hotel has beautiful, spacious, comfortable modern rooms and bathrooms, with big comfortable beds. I loved the lamps and the speakers in both the room and bathroom, which connect to your phone by Bluetooth. The windows have outside shutters and blackout curtains. There's a beautiful rooftop area with a pool, but it was closed in early November despite a maximum temperature of 25. They might want to rethink the pool season dates, since the rooftop is a real asset. Breakfast was very good, but its quality didn't match the rest of the hotel. There was too much fruit and cold meat, and some seemed no longer fresh. I'd keep an eye on the breakfast.
