After a six-hour drive from Lisbon, our group of six arrived to find the door locked. There was no welcome, and the manager seemed to have better things to do than run a guesthouse. When she eventually opened up, she launched straight into an argument. The issue was that we were three minutes late, not 30 minutes or an hour. She said we owed €20 because of a 9 PM cutoff. We calmly pointed out that Booking.com says late fees apply after 9:30 PM. She argued with us for over an hour instead of acknowledging she might be mistaken, then said she'd check with her manager. Plot twist, she is the manager. The AC was basically a wall-mounted placebo, and the room felt like a sauna. After the long drive, I wanted a bed and some decent sleep. I got the bed, but also heat stroke and a passive-aggressive power trip. If you like sweating and being told off like a delinquent middle schooler for arriving three minutes late, this is your place. Everyone else, run.
