Hotel Boutique La Ermita Suites, The Only officially designated "Monument Hotel" in Córdoba

We booked for the location, then fell for the hotel’s beauty, history, and wonderful service. Javier showed us around the hotel’s history and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the city. We spent one night in Cordoba to start our honeymoon, and the room was lovely, with several windows, a great view, and a historic wall. The staff surprised us with complimentary champagne and a sweet note congratulating us on our marriage. The hospitality was unlike anywhere else, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The apartment was beautifully renovated, very clean, spacious, and quiet, with the Mezquita and other major sights just a short walk away. We stayed on the top floor of La Ermita Suite in Córdoba. Javier kindly explained the building’s history and showed us how to use the key to enter when the front desk was closed. From the living room terrace, you can catch a glimpse of the cathedral tips and bell tower. Take care coming back inside, though: the doorway is lower than it looks, as I found out the hard way. The closet hangers were too wide for the space, a small detail that felt a little out of step with the suite’s overall quality. We had a wonderful stay among Córdoba’s narrow streets, where the Mosque–Cathedral’s long shadow made history feel present.

I paid 65 EUROS for what I thought would be a budget room, maybe because it was off season and a weeknight, but I was surprised by how luxurious the hotel felt. The modern touches were gorgeous and updated. My room had a king bed and a balcony overlooking a charming street just off the Juderia or Jewish district. Everything in the old part of the city was within walking distance. There’s also a nice spa downstairs with a jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, and massage services, all at reasonable prices. If I came back to Cordoba, I’d stay here again. It’s a must. See my pictures.

The hotel’s architecture has a time-travelling feel, and the rooms are incredibly comfortable. Its location is perfect, just steps from the cathedral. The staff are always smiling and ready to help, and their hospitality is easily the best service I’ve had in Spain.
