Petit Palace Córdoba (Soho Boutique Córdoba)

The rooftop pool and terrace were a real bonus after a day walking around the city, and breakfast was generally good. We found the staff friendly and helpful, with a smooth check-in and check-out. Reception often gave us useful suggestions for restaurants and attractions. The hotel has a modern, stylish look, and our large room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. The beds were especially good, the air-conditioning worked well after long days out, and free Wi-Fi and a minibar made things convenient. The train station is an easy walk away, and the historic old town and Mezquita-Cathedral are around 15-20 minutes on foot.

The bus stops right outside, and it's an easy walk to the train station. Some of the nicest restaurants are just down the block. A lovely place for a short visit. Es verdad.

The rooftop pool was the biggest concern. Part of the glass panel was missing, rails and steps were coming loose, and there was dirt, rust, and mould around the filters and pool. It's small and gets crowded, with no separation between families and couples. I saw seriously inappropriate behavior from couples in a shared area where children swim. The hotel can get loud at night, with people shouting in the corridors. Someone accidentally knocked on our door after midnight, and you can hear everything from other rooms, even toilets flushing. We had to run the air-conditioning to drown out the noise. With windows open, street noise woke you at 2 a.m. The decor is nice and new, but the bathrooms already showed problems: poor ventilation, no fans, rusting mirrors, red mould growing in the grout, and slow, awful shower drainage. Cleaners made the place smell fresh, but there were horrible stains on corridor carpets. The lobby looked nice and clean, but in 40-degree heat they didn't even offer complimentary water in the waiting area. Some staff seemed to deliberately misunderstand us to sell awful cocktails. A young woman served me a mojito with tobacco sauce, reading from a menu card and clearly unsure what she was doing. The rooftop bar was often unattended, leaving guests waiting to order, and reception barely wanted to help with drinks, so the lobby bar seemed to be just for show. Definitely not up to four-star standards.

Helpful staff and a decent breakfast included. The place was clean and tidy, with super-comfy beds. About a ten-minute walk to town, and right beside the train station.
